A cigarette factory, build in 1892, reborn as a light-filled city hall in Brussels. A design by Stéphanie Willocx, LD2 Architecture and Mamout who converted this red brick building that once formed part of a cigarette factory in Brussels into a council office, waiting room and administration offices. The association and romance of merging the old historical building with the additions makes this project so pure. The new large windows and historical brick facade of the old factory becomes a piece of art in the community itself, celebrating the ornamented architecture of the last century.
